Apple will release a 4.0.1 soon (bug fixes, security features, perhaps some minor tweaks but no significant changes). If there is a 4.1, it will include more significant improvements, perhaps some changes in behaviour. Judging from past versions, that isn't likely before September, possibly coinciding with the release of iOS 4 for the iPad (bringing the two product lines into feature parity and their versions in sync). -- David Empson dempson(a)actrix.gen.nz

There's likely to be an update that knows about the new iPod Touches expected in September. That may or may not be the update that also knows about iPads. -- Chris
