I want to use it for animations - not for websites or advertising. Honest!! -- 8^)~~~ Sue (remove the x to email) ~~~~~~ http://www.wacvet.com/ http://suzie-q-wacvet.com/

Well, getting flash to display properly on FreeBSD is a nightmare. (One needs to run a shaky layer to run Linux binaries so that one can run the unreliable Linux Flash players). This, however, is not my primary reason to disliking Flash. -j -- Jeffrey Goldberg http://goldmark.org/jeff/ I rarely read HTML or poorly quoting posts Reply-To address is valid

The Macs "could" support Flash but don't because I haven't and won't install it.

Being compared to Bible John (though I don't really remember exactly what his stck is beyond what is obvious from his alias because I kill-filed him long ago) is an insult. Firstly, I don't rely on SJ or anyone else to tell me what to think. It only recently came to my notice that there is a controversy surrounding SJ and Adobe and Flash; not the sort of thing I google for. Secondly, I have nothing against Flash itself, but the way it is sometimes used--the content people create with it--is often annoying to me. I have used it on rare occasions to create simple technical illustrations that no one reported as annoying. Thirdly, a tongue-in-cheek "For shame!" is hardly a sweeping condemnation. As a user of of iPhone since day 2 I have never once wished it had Flash. I recently took a non-scientific poll of friends and family on the subject--a dozen or so people with iPhones--and only one said that they had been hindered on one occasion by not having Flash on their iPhone. She was unable to "build and price" a new car on a manufacturer's site. Mostly the people I asked, tech-savvy /users/ , all, did not know or did not care that Flash is not supported on their iPhones; they didn't miss it.
