The only reason he needs is that he doesn't want to--he apparently wants the exposure that Launchpad gives them. If you (any user) can make it invisible, and it's got a small footprint, no biggie IMhO. Anne

They say it is what Melih says it is. Howsosomeever, Launch Pad can now be disabled after installation...somewhat of a compromised. Discussions are ongoing as we type about giving the option not to install it at all soon. This is a good thing as the firewall itself is better than any other freeware firewall and many expert reviews I've seen said it is as good as most of the good commercial ones. Something we have not had access to yet. Zone Alarm free, Kerio, sygate, etc. can't hold a candle to it. If you want to continue with your refusal to acknowledge this, it is your choice. If you want to buy a good commercial firewall, or use more inferior freeware firewalls, that is your choice. Me, I want the best I can get for free...because I don't think end users should have to pay to defend against attacks...the people making the money off of us should provide the tools we need to do that. I also don't want bundled software of any kind and I will continue to support program purity. The approach your taking will only get you ignored. It is your choice howsosomeever. No program could get out, my system slowed to a crawl upon boot up and the System Tray icon just sat there for minutes with the message saying something like "COMODO firewall is trying to initialize." It's a completely useless program on my computer and I am back to Sygate 5.6 |
