Positive is good when it is deserved. Until the new version, it wasn't
deserved and Melih wasn't helping at all. Actually, there is a compromise
in that Launch Pad is still there, constantly talks, and I disabled it.

It would be best to eliminate the bundle. The firewall is good, and
I can live with the compromise, but as soon as another firewall catches
up...I'm gone.

The link from PC magazine has been posted. I am giving my opinion
directly, not evaluating others opinions.

Melih did a bad PR job, was evasive, and the questions were simple and
direct which he/she
evaded elusively, not direct clear consice response.

I've already install the firewall after the compromise.

I totally agree. All this only confirms the saying that "No good deed
goes unpunished." I found a strong sense of sadism in their replies. No
wonder some developers don't want anything to do with this newsgroup.

BTW, after googling some of the outstanding reviews of Comodo I decided
to download it (strangely enough, from critic Bear Bottoms' website) as
a replacement for free Outpost Firewall. So far I am extremely impressed
with Comodo; it was easy to configure and understand how it works. The
only thing I miss is the highly detailed Allow/Block logging from
Outpost. But overall I highly recommend Comodo.

Well, I just installed it and uninstalled it after 15 minutes. I had
all sorts of trouble with it where it wouldn't let IE get out, it would
take minutes for the firewall to initialize, any program I launched it
never asked me if I wanted to allow it, even the tool to find
acceptable applications on my computer didn't give me a list or allow
any of them to run.

Comodo might be very nice for others but it didn't do anything for me.
I don't have the patience to mess around with it when my trusty Sygate
5.6 is working nicely and the newly released Netveda SafetyNet acts
like you would expect.

I never criticized the firewall...it's great. I didn't like the bundle,
and the terrible pr work done by milah. He made me even more suspicious.
I guess it was difficult to admit it was a mistake to bundle company
adware with the product and try to hide the fact.

Once they compromised and enabled
a way to turn Launch Pad off, I listed the great firewall on my site. Also
gave them a fair shake in the Tech Corner.

Bundled software is a serious threat to Open Source or Freeware programs.
One should fight against it. Give an inch...and it's ruined forever.
