So how do you print from any given application with it? Say if I wanted
to print something from safari or my notes?

I think you should try and live with a netbook (borrow one from a
friend?) for a while before suggesting she gets one.

None of the people I know with netbooks, apart from Woody, use them.

Sorry, it's photos only. I just meant that technically it doesn't
seem a biggie, and that I'd expect iWork on iPad to do it natively...

My dad used a touchscreen Lifebook for a while, and then traded the 9"
one up to a 12". They're geeky toys, and barely practical - not small
enough to be pocketable, small enough to be fiddly to work with,
particularly the mousing. I'd be quite astonished if PeterC's s-i-l
didn't hate it after five minutes.

Cheers - Jaimie

Printing is next to trivial (where next to trivial is actually fairly
hard but a problem solved many years ago).
Providing a framework where the applications can print, and a common
method so the user knows how to print is not something that is easy to
tack on later.
