Altera's were slow, too (if you couldn't infer that by the 5V capability). >I haven't had, or heard of any problems with Altera devices (at least wrt >adhering to the the data sheets). They were broken as designed.

At the time perhaps there were more people looking for 5V input capability? Nial

Crappy, as in three years out of date. >At the time perhaps there were more people looking for 5V input capability? Are you related to DimBulb? Altera was way behind the curve in I/O capability. Xilinx was too, but bought the IP (company) for the Virtex line. Altera sat there looking stupid.

> Crappy, as in three years out of date. Three years out of data for leading edge performance perhaps, but what % of users wanted that over 5V compatability (in 1998)? You said "Altera crappy I/Os weren't fixable", but they were as spec'd in the data sheet. I.e. not 'broken'. Nial. |
