I have also encountered $15/night ethernetless debacles.

If Jerry charged me $15/day for internet access - yes I'd steal from his
jar.

I stayed at the Omni in Atlanta, my ethernet port was not functioning.
I used the hotel's login/password since I was there for a convention.
I was only there for three days though.
