I'd have thought that the moment after activating a 5 kiloton self
destruct mechanism is precisely when you'd *most* want to "undo last
action".

Ah, the times I've wished I could command-Z real life...

It might. But it wouldn't explain why every other laptop that's been
anywhere near you has also had a similar fate.

I think the issue Elliott is not lateness, but that you didn't read the
post you are posting to. :) We are talking in this sub-thread about
using fn with the arrow keys, not with the top row function keys.

That is a nice way to make it one-handed, if that is what you want.
However I would find page-upping and page-downing in that way clumsy,
hand-cramping and impossible to make precisely controlled multiple quick
keystrokes up/down.

When I am paging through a document, I am not typing, I am
reading/scanning. Therefore I am happy to adopt a two-handed
both-hands-spread-out-at-the-bottom-of-the-keyboard position. In fact I
find it aids concentration on what I am reading.

Nice that it is still a feature on modern Mac keyboards. Strange that
it is not marked on the keys - how is one to know of the feature?

Ah! Indeed.
