There's no doubt that I'm operating the machinery correctly. The problem is that the machinery is not operating correctly. After all, I never had this problem with System 6.0.7-MacOS 7.6.1 or MacOS 9.0.4; I first met it when I started using MacOS X. What amazes me is that even with a simple technical query, even then I get replies that are little more than personal abuse. There's a reason I have the Firth creature killfiled... I've made very very sure that I've activated the controls. And quite often, even a second or third attempt doesn't do the trick. <shrug> I never saw the problem before MacOS X. It's a pain. Some apps seem more prone to it than others - would you be surprised to hear that Firefox is particularly bad for `copy working as expected'? At least, it is here. And that's Firefox 3.6 and MacOS X 10.6.2 - latest versions, all recent updates applied (I hope). He wasn't sneering at you. In fact, *no-one* here sneers at you. He provided a data point, namely that he doesn't see it. Neither do I.
