No-one with normal vision can `easily' ignore blinking flashing animated
moving picture adverts - it's a plain lie, that claim.

They are intended - carefully crafted, indeed - to grab your attention
without you having any say in the matter at all. And they work very
well.

Perhaps people who are greatly exposed to advertising of that sort might
be able to develop an immunity, but for those of us who have kept
ourselves away from that kind of grossly antisocial intrusion into
decent society, it's utterly unbearable.

Not to mention sit there doing their level best to intrude upon your
consciousness so that your attention is dragged away from the content
that you're interested in and distracted by the adverts - as they are
intended to.

Me, I keep adverts blocked. Most commerical Websites are, for me,
totally unusable unless I have an ad blocker.

I can't even read the Grauniad on-line without ad blocking.

`Of course not' is a sneer of a response.

`Why should I?' is not an honest question.

You know the answer to your question, Peter, don't you? You're just
sneering again, that's all.

Go stick your head in a pig, Peter.

I'm sorry if you don't like the fact that neither he nor I am seeing
this issue, despite quite a few other people seeing it.

That doesn't alter the fact that we're not.

Get over it. If you can't then I suggest you killfile both of us and/or
stay off usenet for a while until you're better able to cope with it.

And lotsaproblems. Do you think, by any chance, that the two could be
related?

Ah - the Firth creature begins with an insult, let's see if it gets any
better...

Nope - the Firth creature is just showing off the fact that it
understands nothing about human vision and human psychology.

[snip more of the Firth's standard personal abuse]
