Maybe I should expand that a bit.

Adverts seem to bother a lot of people. They don't bother me at all- I
can easily concentrate on what I need to see.

I have to say, I don't get terribly distracted by ads. I just enable
my brain's tunnel vision plug-in. And I've noticed that NoScript,
for example, arguably makes the appearance of pages worse in
many cases. But I do use NoScript because:

(a) Pages tend to load much faster. Note: against that should be
weighed the time spent unblocking stuff that needs to be seen.

(b) It might improve security. I can't say with any certainty that
it does or it doesn't - but it most definitely makes me feel better.
