Is there such a DVD app analogous to cdparanoia? Or is it not possible due to the differing data, WAV vs. MPEG? Today's run of 'aptitude -s safe-upgrade' had been running for over an hour and was using half my memory when I killed it. Sorry. Missed a previous thread. Cured it by setting options radeon modeset=0 in /etc/modprobe.d/radeon-kms.conf This works (original value was 1).
