Circuit Design Using PADS Layout
Hello friends , This tutorial is intended for beginners in printed circuit board design who wish to complete a board using PADS layout ( earlier PADS PowerPCB ) Tool. I have just started from here and and find that it is nice for novice. So just go through it. http://www.ezdia.com/PADS_Powerpcb_tutorial/Content... 3 Oct 2009 06:41
Orcad Capture 15.7 and BOM generation with hierarchical designs
I have a schematic design that contains several hierarchical blocks, referencing external schematics. If I generate the BOM for the entire design, Orcad correctly descends into the hierarchical blocks and reports the occurrences of all the components. If I try to do the same thing for a selection of the design (i.e... 1 Oct 2009 21:50
Dual polarity supply -- no center tap
I've never used a "voltage inverter" -- I see that Maxim makes a chip that will convert +5v to -5v and I would imagine they can be used in a dual polarity supply. However, I want to build an audio power amp supply for an LM3886 -- wonder if there's a chip or circuit that will do the same thing at higher voltages... 4 Oct 2009 08:48
battery chargers, again
Last time a car went dead in the garage, my wife's Fit, I hacked up a charger from an old DSL wall-wart and a sabre saw as a series current limiter. The garage geometry makes it essentially impossible for us to push a car uphill to the street to jump it. Now The Brat left her Echo in the garege for a month or so an... 6 Oct 2009 03:21
Rectify 500MHz Small Signal
Anyone have clever ideas for rectifying a 500MHz sine wave, amplitude say 50mV to 500mV peak-to-peak? Half wave is OK. 1mV accuracy is needed :-( Process is X-Fab XB06. Thanks! ...Jim Thompson -- | James E.Thompson, P.E. | mens ... 8 Oct 2009 01:18

Shoud I Report 'em?
Got a URL renewal notice in the mail today from Domain Registry of America. They've graciously sent me a courtesy renewal form which looks an awful lot like an invoice. Only problem: I don't have anything registered with them. And my provider for the about-to-be-expired URL is 1and1.com who renews it automatic... 26 Sep 2009 02:43
5632 toooob replacement?
What's a replacement for 5632 tubes? Between 208 and 440 on the plates, 2 tubes, driving a 1 hp DC motor, according to what I've been told. Haven't seen the thing yet, but I believe motor speed may be controled via the grids. The machine makes platinum ribbon. Ed ... 28 Sep 2009 08:07

Adjustable constant current source 0.5 uA microAmps to 2 Amps
I need an adjustable constant current source than can be set to anywhere between 0.5 microAmps and 2 Amps. An output compliance voltage of say 10 volts should be sufficient. The LT1167 data sheet has a current source with 2 pA resolution. An earlier version of its data sheet showed a plot spanning 8 decades up t... 22 Sep 2009 18:35
