Tunable Bandpass Filter I need to design an analog channel selection filter (tunable bandpass filter) for a communications application. The middle frequency is in the range 2..7 MHz, and the required bandwidth is 600 kHz. How do I get started with this? Many thanks, Guy. ... 24 Nov 2009 01:15
Home amp into res. load If I want to use a consumer stereo amplifier to drive a purely resistive load, rather than a speaker, what factors should be considered avoid damage to the output stage? How can I maximize power output without choosing a too small value resistor? Richard Keller ... 16 Nov 2009 14:40

triple switcher We keep running into the requirement to turn +12 or +5 volts into 3.3, 1.2 (fpga core), and usually a third voltage, 1.8 (for drams) or 2.5 (fpga Vccint). We'd like to consolidate this to save board area and general complexity. Any suggestions? LTM4615 looks interesting, a bit expensive but very small. htt... 20 Nov 2009 23:29

Measuring Large resistances I am having problems trying to measure resistance values above 100MegaOhms. My Laboratory Ohmeter gives unstable values. Is ther anyway apart from the usual dc bridges of getting accurate resistance measurements. Thanks guys. Kreyen ... 15 Nov 2009 15:37
Help identifying dead electro. cap polarity? This cap was removed from a 70's-80's German industrial machine: <http://i37.tinypic.com/10psxg3.jpg> It has no polarity markings. One terminal is common with the metal case. Is this always an indication of the (-) terminal? The base has molded terminal locations numbered 1-4, two of which are empty: <ht... 13 Nov 2009 05:31
High-ohm grid resistor in tube (pre)amp design Hi all, I regularly repair tube amplifiers, and there's one thing I occasionally encounter that doesn't appear to make much sense: a high resistor (> 100K) in series with one of the first 12AX7 preamp tube grids. OK, I fully understand that this resistor, together with the Miller capacitance between grid and a... 13 Nov 2009 09:55 |
