spice diode model question
I have a diode that I want to model, it's a 85HF20. <http://www.vishay.com/docs/93529/85hf.pdf> This is one of those standard stud mounted rectifiers. This is the model that I created for it: ..model 85HF20 D(BV=200 Ibv=.009 Is=1e-3 Cjo=2300p M=0.43 Rs=.00169 Tt=100u Eg=1.11 Vj=1.2 Fc=0.5 N=1.1 ) Cjo was ta... 21 Dec 2009 21:22

iPhone/iPod Touch serial cable
....lot's of questions today... Yet another project that requires connecting to these devices via the serial port available through the interface connector. In searching the 'net I've seen cables sold for nearly $40. I've also seen raw connectors. What I'd like to find is a source with good pricing for quanti... 20 Dec 2009 14:42
JTAG pogo-pin connector
Does someone make such a thing off the shelf? I've been using typical headers that match the connector on the programming pod. For example, 2mm to match Xilinx and 0.1in to match SiLabs or Freescale (and most everyone else). The design I am working on now is small in size and the header would simply not fit. ... 20 Dec 2009 16:55
Need: NEMA 4 Cabinet
A colleague of mine is looking for a NEMA-4 cabinet, new, 24" x 36" x 8"D. I turned him on to Hammond (Price: $625-ish, QTY-1). Only needs 1 for a special project. Teaching help
Friends are home-schooling their son. I get to teach him 4th grade science: static electricity, magnetism, complete circuits, that sort of thing. There is a very general state provided syllabus, which I regard as a minimum. Any thoughts, tips, techniques, hints? I haven't taught 4th graders (9-10 years old)... 27 Dec 2009 15:12
Ferrites: L changes with current change.
I have ask before about changes of inductance vs. AC excitation in ferrites before and didn't get a satisfactory answer. We can use a particular potcore at 5ua or 10amps. but how much does the inductance change over this range? What current does the manufacturer use to make his curves. I'm thinking about a tra... 30 Dec 2009 10:54
Reading labels on small ICs
Gentlemen of this distingushed group, How do you read labels on small ICs such as the ThinSOT or DFN packs that are 2mm x 3mm? Ok, I have old eyes, soldering these pups is do able but finding pin#1 is impossible for me even using 7X eye loupe. I know JL will say it is no problem with his $3K Mantis and others ar... 24 Dec 2009 15:09
