[Way OT] dieresis
Hi, I do a lot of formal writing (specifications, manuals, etc.). And, I suspect much of my spelling, vocabulary, grammar, etc. traits have remained largely unchanged since grade school. :< Today, as I was trying to remember a keystroke sequence for an accented character in FrameMaker, I *conciously* noti... 1 Mar 2010 17:36
low-end scope
I'd like to have a low-end scope or two to keep around the house, occasional use only. I could use it at work, too, for simple analog stuff, timing software execution, stuff like that. I was think about a Rigol DS1052E, 50 MHz color, 2 traces, about $535. Or something like that. Any suggestions or comments? ... 6 Mar 2010 22:50
Need a little design help on my latest project
Hi Guys, Ok, going to put myself in harms way, and ask for a little design advice. I have been working on this project for a while now, and it has gone through several iterations, and I keep having the same problem! PLL Breadboard Issues
I bread boarded my PLL yesterday. I was able to get it to lock just fine on a multivibrator running at 33Hz. I was able to solve the jitter problem by using a very large value for C1 (1000u). However, when I attached my cameras to the loop, (one running at 22.2fps and the other running at 25fps) the loop would ... 18 Mar 2010 22:21

H Bridge Driver for Single Coil, How to add protection?
Dear All, I am designing H-Bridge Relay Circuit. The coil resistance is 36 ohms. Inductance is 500mH measured at 100Hz, 1V pk to pk with Agilent LCR Meter. Do I need additional snubber or TVS to protect the switches? If so how to add the protection? Regards ... 26 Feb 2010 18:41

RJ-45 "through wire" crimp connectors?
I remember seeing RJ-45 (cat 5 I think they were) crimp connectors that had holes for the conductors drilled entirely through the connector such that each conductor could be fed out the end. After the crimp the conductors can be clipped off. But I can't remember where I saw these. Who makes these? Where c... 12 Mar 2010 06:07
