From: JF Mezei on 14 Jul 2010 04:40 I cleaned my mighty mouse. Didn't help. Must make a trip to the Apple place of worship tomorrow to buy one of them Magic Mice. So the mouse living in the basement ceiling has outlived this Migthy Mouse, my 3rd one. (and this depsite plenty of rat poison having been thrown in the space between ceiling and floor where the mouse lives)

A reasonable assumption, but a tad off topic given that you are referring to a non-Apple mouse. > I never thought it would be this easy to clean. Why not? If dirt can get in and cause loss of functionality then it makes sense for the manufacturer to allow for easy cleaning. The Apple Mighty Mouse on the other hand is both susceptible to gumming up and glued shut to make cleaning difficult. Combined with the side squeeze action (which seems to activate at random) this made the Mighty Mouse a pretty terrible bit of design from Apple. Fortunately they have redeemed themselves with the Magic Mouse. Ian -- Ian Gregory http://www.zenatode.org.uk/

With my most-used Magic Mouse (used for anywhere from 12 to 16 hours a day, almost every day), I get close to a month of usage on a set of standard Energizer 1.5V batteries. The type of battery you use makes a *lot* of difference. I tried some rechargeable batteries and got much less life out of them (like a week or so).
