Neither of them have a reasonable argument and as such lies and strawmen are being thrown all over the place. NHS dentists are a good example. They are simultaneously funded by the NHS _and_ are allowed to take as many private patients as they want. The NHS pay the dentist a set amount for each "NHS Patient" they treat with the dental practice negotiating a contract for how many they will have on their records and how much service they will provide. When the dentist is not treating NHS patients (as part of his contract) s/he is able to treat as many or few private paying patients as s/he wishes. I suspect, like others on this thread, they have realised they are arguing a case about something they have no frame of reference to discuss, but still refuse to stop arguing.

It is interesting to note that previously in this thread krw stated "No, [war] it's state sponsored violence" when he wanted to make a different point. It is very hard to argue with some one who will redefine the meaning of every word each time they want to make a new point. This is part of the very early arguments in this thread - namely that the "war on terror" is a complete misnomer.

While on a personal level I am glad Halliburton got the contracts it got (they have employed me in the past), I am also not blind to the double standards employed.
