I do indeed think you're a loon, Bassos. Most people who dabble in
magick are loons and you do quite a lot of dabbling.

Some people don't appreciate country-and-western music at all. It
doesn't move them a bit. Yet those same people may enjoy jazz or
classical music and be deeply moved by it. Your tastes don't define
art, Bassos. They only tell you what kind of art you like.

In both astrology and Rorschach inkblots, meaning is imposed on random
images. Jackson Pollock paintings are the same way. This is simply
the way things are, no matter how you might feel about it.

No, we don't "actually live in a fantasy land". We actually live in
the real world. We also fantasize. The more we are incapable of
telling the difference between our real life and our fantasies, the
more confused we become.

Quite often, people who badly confuse their fantasies with reality
think that people who are trying to point out the difference between
fantasy and reality are opposed to fantasy, but this is just another
confused fantasy. Fantasies have a variety of purposes that assist
one in effectively living in the real world, but only when they are
understood to be fantasies and are not being confused with reality.
As one fails to use the capacity to distinguish between fantasy and
reality, all sorts of pathologies arise.

### - note that i said 'of our own imagining' thus qualifying the context in which
it was placed, which you've side-stepped slightly in favour of your own, hence now
the misunderstanding...

the point being that of course we live in the real world, and only that people
have 'already' become so confused that they relate now more to their own
'conceptualised ideas' of reality and what it's 'supposed' to be all about
(conceptual fantasies) than they do the real and actual world in which they live
but no longer recognise (iow people now see everything in their own
'conceptualised' terms rather than how it actually is)

Quite often, people who badly confuse their fantasies with reality

reality, all sorts of pathologies arise.

### - all sorts of pathologies have 'already' arisen creating a situation that has
virtually swallowed the human race whole! you yourself also having been swallowed
whole only you don't seem to realise it because you implicitly trust all your own
ideas of what everything's 'supposed' to be about from your own pov, and while you
may 'think' you have a different version to others, it's still just another
'version' of the same kinda shite everyone is dining on, even though the varying
flavours all appears to be very different (as different as biology is from
astrophysics for example)

the ultimate, intellectual/reason-destroying 'truth' being that nature, the world,
and the rest of the universe isn't actually 'about' anything! and if you still
think it 'is' about something, anything at all, then you are one of those still
lost in their own fantasies and ideas born of their own imagination and relating
to it exclusively as 'though' it were all real, only it isn't...

to be blunt...
there IS no 'meaning' to life
there IS no 'purpose' to existence
there IS no 'philosophy'
the universe 'is', and we 'are', and that's it! period!
so get used to it...
everything else is a fantasy! Everything!
science, religion, all and any beliefs
'none' of it is real except in our silly human heads
basically because we 'want' it to be rather than face the truth

e.g.. there's nothing at all 'scientific about the world, that's just a bunch of
people going-around being all 'scientific' about everything, which might make it
real to them but that still doesn't make it 'Real'

in fact we'll believe anything at ALL, 'any' old lie and total waste of time
rather than deal with the rather scary 'reality' of our situation (which one
doesn't have to be a genius to grasp btw)

consequently, everyone is hiding by burying themselves in (and under) their own
personal + trivial man-made endless concerns, fabrications and projections, and if
you can't see that then it's because either you maybe don't wish to, and/or are
not ready yet for that level of understanding and letting-go...

we were 'never' in-control :)

I may have restated my opinion in a different way. That can help other's
understand what I'm saying. It doesn't mean I 'need' to be 'correct'. A
cursory glance at my previous posts on alt.magick will reveal that I
don't need to be correct.

This makes no sense.

Chucking bricks at someone and making a post on Usenet aren't remotely
similar.

Since you appear to believe that it's no business of yours what I do,
that means that if I choose to meddle in other people's "business", or
questioning their beliefs, or even chuck bricks at them, it's none of
your business.

A *most* important point.

The 'meaning' is that we are *all* family.

Yours Is the Light
Music: Richard Kermode
Lyric: Michael Shrieve

Yours is the light that will always shine
and shine eternally, eternally
Mine is the search, never-ending search
until I am with you.
For you fill my life,
all my days and nights
with (light) memories of you.
