This is sad.

This was an honest discussion for the creation of a new newsgroup.
Nobody would be forced to participate , read it or buy Apple products.

The discussions have degenerated into something that makes Priam's
arguments against Apple look intelligent and well reasoned.

This isn't a debate about Apple products. It is a debate on whether a
newsgroup should be created or not. If you don't have any arguments on
that issue, then participate in other topics, not this one.
