Well, the basic account is still free. You only need to pay for extras such as custom CSS. Nowadays, whenever someone with a limited budget asks me how to set up a site that they can easily maintain themselves, I send them straight to wordpress.com. After a couple of hours training they're usually on track and happy. -- Martin

Whether that's less than what Andy's > customers/users are paying for at the moment is the question. It's my sister's church, so it's a favour really. We pay GoDaddy for domains and hosting. I create and manage the site with iWeb, and find that *very* easy to do. If you're interested, it's here: <http://stmartinandstjohn.org/> As you can see, it's fairly comprehensive for a church site, and does incorporate 3 parishes, and two churches in one parish. We decided to share the cost of running the site between the churches, and I input all the articles etc. I have four sites there altogether, one entry site, and one each for the three churches it covers. It's treated as a single site though. Using iWeb it takes no time at all, and much less time than I'd spend trying to show someone else what to do, or indeed work on tranferring the site so someone else can manage it. It's likely that someone else would have to use a template based composer, so this isn't a problem that's likely to ever go away. The only reason I've been looking at other composers is because of a couple of comments that some of the site doesn't work well in all browsers. The aforementioned text zoom problem in Safari, and some stuff doesn't work well in IE8. For the first part, not many of the target audience use Safari, in fact it's probably just me. Most of the users that are likely to *need* to zoom it, aren't likely to be on the web anyway, or indeed using Safari. For the second part, it was easily fixed by relocating some of the graphics, and not using underline or italic text. So, as you can see, this isn't something that's worth bunging loads of money at, or investing too much time on - unless I can do a one off migration that'll give me *everything* I need. -- Andy Hewitt <http://web.me.com/andrewhewitt1/>
