The photon applies pressure to the eye when it collapses and is detected as a quantum of mather. My guess is the mather does not stay compressed and transitions back to its base state of aether. Analogous to a ocean wave that propagates through a channel and funnels its energy before exiting the channel, arriving on shore, and then dissipating.

When the photon wave in the aether collapses and is detected as a quantum of mather the quantum of mather applies pressure to the eye. In the photoelectric effect experiment, when a photon wave in the aether collapses into a quantum of mather, in order for electrons to be emitted the quantum of mather continues to exist within the metal. The emission of the electron is evidence of the photon's continued existence within the metal. It cannot be known if the photon continues to exist as a quantum of mather or returns back to being a 'one something' with the aether within the metal but the mass of the quantum of mather is added to the metal. The addition of the mass to the metal of the quanta of mather associated with the collapsed aether waves causes electrons to be emitted. Whatever causes us to have an ability to 'see' is due to the pressure exerted on us by the photon aether wave which collapses and is detected as a quantum of mather. What that pressure does and what happens to the quantum of mather is not known but since nothing is being emitted by us as we continue to see it must be assumed the quantum of mather does not continue to exist within us as additional mass. The energy associated with the pressure associated with the quantum of mather is transmitted to our brain. For most of the people on this thread non-answers like "mass-less energy 'converts to' mass" and "mass 'converts to' mass-less energy" are preferred because in their essence they are meaningless. They do not describe what occurs physically in nature. AD does.

People in brighter climates would have heavier eyes. Like I said, your arguments continue to contradict each other!

What that pressure does and what happens to the quantum of mather is not known but the quantum of mather causes some type of physical impression on a material substance in our brains allowing us to create images in our mind. When this quantum of mather transfers this energy to the material substance in our brain the quantum of mather no longer exists as a 'particle' (i.e. the 'particle' decompresses). This decompression of the quantum of mather is an expansion into aether. The heat our bodies generate is aether waves. Part of the heat our bodies continually generate might be the decompression of the quanta of mather which has transferred its physical energy to our brains.
