Nowadays they seem to be the New Microsoft. There's some brilliant stuff in the latest Photoshop - they clearly have some very talented developers. Unfortunately they appear to put all the trainees on the installers and updaters. -- Chris

The best thing would be to delete the current app and install a fresh version of 9.3.2. Also first go to ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ and delete AdobePDFViewer.plugin (also check /Library/Internet Plug-Ins)

Open up Adobe Reader and update from the help > menu. I think I still got the problem with the stuck window, but it > updated the Reader to 9.3.2 and the stuck window has not appeared > since I rebooted. I get this on a Win XP and a Vista one. Haven't got it on the Macs yet as I only just installed Acrobat Rearer on this Mini this week. Looks like Adobe got it wrong somewhere deeper than platfor specific. On the other hand I did find a Mac Mini 10.5.8 update sitting on the Vista box for some silly reason - I suppose the Reader update is a Windows one and not a Mac one that lost its way? No - if couldn't be as the updater icon sits in the Windows System Tray. -- duncank

Nowadays they seem to be the New Microsoft. I also get an error trying to install the latest ACR update, and unhelpful 'Installation Failed' message. At least it still works otherwise. -- Andy Hewitt <http://web.me.com/andrewhewitt1/>

Nowadays they seem to be the New Microsoft. No, Google is the new Microsoft. In a way, Google is really the new IBM, except that when Microsoft used to be the new IBM, it did it so much that people stopped remembering what the IBM was. Now Microsoft is starting to become what the actual IBM became after Microsoft became the new IBM, but people still remember it. Daniele |
