Should squid RAM management be left to the kernel or configured explicitly?

GRUB2 - automatically generating extra entries
I use runlevel 3 for non-X boots (gdm, etc is disabled), and to boot into it I append "3" to my "normal use" entry in the GRUB2 menu. I'd like to just automatically generate the extra line, so that even after a kernel upgrade it'll still be there (but obviously for the new kernel). Xorg eats lot of CPU after upgrade to KDE 4.4
Hello, after upgrading KDE to 4.4, xorg process takes 50 - 90% of CPU and makes desktop really slow. logrotate won't finish, high cpu usage
Hi! recently i've been experiencing problems with logrotate, each time it runs it gets kinda stuck and eats up the systems cpu for days without finishing (i don't have that many/big logfiles to rotate) the output of "logrotate -d -v /etc/logrotate.conf" just stops at "reading config info for /var/log/btmp"... 9 Jun 2010 07:31
