You said the OS and software was "for the most part, the same". Mossberg, who, unlike you, has actually used an iPad, says the software is significantly different on the iPad: "Apple has rewritten most of the core iPhone apps so they look more like, and have more of the features of, Mac or PC programs". > go download the sdk. as with every sdk revision, there are some new > features, however, the os is basically the same and with the ipad, > there fewer changes than there were from iphone os 2.0 to 3.0. > > > "It uses the iPhones basic user interface and physical design. > > in other words, it's the same. FAIL. Nice try at taking a single sentence from an entire article out of context in an effort to make yourself look good. Here's what he actually said: "It uses the iPhones basic user interface and physical design. But, taking advantage of a 9.7? screen and a fast Apple-designed processor, the iPad adds some user interface elements and functionality that arent availableor at least typicalon smart phones, but look more like computer software." > > But, taking advantage of a 9.7? screen and a fast Apple-designed > > processor, the iPad adds some user interface elements and > > functionality that arent availableor at least typicalon smart > > phones, but look more like computer software. > > adding user interface elements for the larger screen doesn't mean the > os is different. > > rest snipped. nothing in it about the operating system. My original statement wasn't exclusively about the operating system. In anticipation of you trimming it out of the quoting above to make yourself look better, I'll go ahead and repeat what I said: > > > I love how these dumb asses make the flawed assumption that > > > the OS and software running on the iPad must be exactly the > > > same as what's running on iPods... Again: The OS AND SOFTWARE running on the iPad is NOT THE SAME as what is found on iPods. You're wrong. Just admit it and move on. -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me. E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my very hungry SPAM filter.
