It really is a well written, entertaining book. Terry Jones has some bias
himself (being strangely anti-Roman a lot of the time), but once that is
taken into account it is a breath of fresh air for a history book. Very
different from the normal, dusty, tomes that float around covering that
period.

He did a series for TV called "Medieval Lives" which, while being a little
Monty-Python-Camp was very good. The accompanying book was pretty good as
well.

It is pretty impressive. I think there are a few more to go before it dies,
but a lot of the originality seems to have gone.

Hopefully some one will inject new life into it soon :-)
