But then, I do not use VO 'at the bounderies' like some other guys like you do. I have pounded VO 2835/2836 more than hundred hours last few weeks and I have not seen any oddiditys. I did not have to reimport, reindex or anything else fancy etc. VSS integration finally is 100% working for us. Sorry to see that you are stumbling into things. 4 and 5 seem to be serious to me, but I know otto has tested disconnects and as far as I know, did not stumble into issues. Perhaps he can comment on this. As for issues 5. Perhaps a new repo will do the trick, but assaid, I do not have that issue nor does anybody else in VOPS. -- Grtz, Marc "Geoff Schaller" <geoffx(a)softxwareobjectives.com.au> schreef in bericht news:Zugym.45427$ze1.44287(a)news-server.bigpond.net.au... > Well folks, annoyingly, many of the SP2 bugs are still present! > > I have been trying to edit and rebuild a couple of applications and ran > into editor problems. The application files in your repository have a symbol id that is not found in the symbol table. You can solve that by rebuilding all apps in your project, or better with creating a new project. > 4. I think that the compiler has 'touched' an entity which causes lots of dependant entities to get touch as well. This will probably happen if you recompile a base library that is used all over the place. In the past this was not always happening correctly, causing problems because dependent code did not always see changes in the code from base libraries. > 6. Does it really require reindexing on every import? Maybe the SP2 AEF is really corrupt ? Does this happen with one AEF or with all SP2 AEFs? This could be related to a corrupted Symbol table in your SP2 project. > 7. Importing an AEF sometimes corrupts the Windows task bar in Vista 64 > bit SP2 - I haven't discovered a consistent trigger. Maybe the VOPS folks did not have a corrupted SP2 repo when they started ? -- Robert van der Hulst AKA Mr. Data Vo2Jet & Vo2Ado Support VO & Vulcan.NET Development Team www.heliks.nl
From: Geoff Schaller on 7 Oct 2009 17:17 Robert, Thank you for the responses. I think what I will have to do is export all AEFs carefully and as you say, create a new project and re-import them all again. The hassle of course is that I have 18 major projects all tightly linked with VSS so this is quite a pain and going to take some time. I had hoped that this wouldn't be necessary so I need to find down time when I can do this. But some of the behaviour (particular the control class inheritance stack) occurs in a new aef imported into a new project from the samples provided. Harry and others have confirmed this. But now I have one project which does not exhibit this problem so I am guessing it has to be project related somehow. If I am to rebuild all my projects then there is no point my investigating the SCC issues. I have had some inconsistent issues with the new icon indicating change but I suspect I need to fully synchronise all instances of the SCC clients (my laptop, desktop and co-worker etc). As to whether my SP2 projects were corrupted or not... well I don't know. I have been using them that way for over 12 months. All I can do is rebuild them all and refresh the SCC settings. Geoff
