I want to be able to: * call the script: boj * which then shows it's can-do-menu * initially say - 1= append to my [probably 1 per line] known phrases; perhaps the lines are just appended below the code's 'exit'. 2= show my list of known phrases, 2a= and accept an index or a 'key' to return the selected 1-li... 1 Jan 2010 23:54

Auto mount of USB stick in slack 13
Hello Can someone explain to me or point me in the direction of a web page that explains how I can get slackware to automount USB sticks and other USB gadgets with a file system when running KDE? Manually checking dmesg and doing a command line mount is getting tedious and I can't find a clear explanation of w... 31 Dec 2009 00:12
resize reiserfs partition
Hi, In slackware 13 I have resized a reiserfs using the command resize_reiserfs. That worked ok but I can't figure out how to resize the partition. Partimage will only copy the whole partition to one of a similar or larger size and parted won't resize a reiserfs. I cannot find a copy of libreiserfs, which is su... 30 Dec 2009 17:35
Settung keyboard in Slack 13.0
Probably already been done, but can anyone tell me what I need to edit to get a UK keyboard in the new Xorg in Slack 13? Its apparently not handled by xorg.conf now, and HAL is suppose to deal with this stuff. However, its doesn't on my test machine (plus I kill HAL after first boot as its a damn nuisance), ... 6 Jan 2010 08:23
Migrating to slackware64
Hi, currently I'm test driving Slackware64 and it's working out pretty good, so good that I think about migrating my existing slack installation to Slackware64. Now I wonder if there are any hints, gotchas, etc I should be aware of and what the smoothest path of migration is. Usually I would go on the follow... 30 Dec 2009 04:23
Qemu help
I've got an old but extremely useful piece of software that won't run on anything more recent than Win 98. It won't run on XP or under Wine, though strangely, it used to run under OS/2 (which had Win 3.1 built in)! I've always kept an old machine running '98 solely so I could use this software, but with Virtua... 1 Jan 2010 12:59
Slackware 13.0 with KDE 3.5.10?
Hi, I recently installed Slackware 13.0 on a notebook and everything worked more or less as expected, except for direct graphic rendering with my integrated Intel card. This has been the case for most major up-to-date distros I tested on the somewhat old notebook, namely a Samsung Q25. That said, a Knoppix CD wi... 26 Jan 2010 21:12
