I know it. I mentioned it. I have purchased it.

It is simply faulty. Databases that run perfectly in FMP 9 Advanced on
my Mac simply don't run properly under FM Touch on the iPhone. Certain
fields aren't properly synchronized.

In one table I succeeded in solving the problem. A date field wasn't
synced. But when I entered a new record in the table that record synced
as it should. And when I re-entered all other dates in the field they
synced too. Simply put: FMTouch couldn't recognize the internal
reprosentation of all date fields although FMP9 could. They had been
entered in an older version.

Of course the database is full of primary and secondary keys ...

Exactly.

In my view it has a great future: Excellent hardware (efficient
processor, enough memory, fast graphics, sensors, gorgeous LCD), solid
multi-tasking operating system, and on top of that a user interface that
is difficult to copy - multitouch with all the gestures, and an
ecosystem generating applications.

Everyone can build hardware (maybe not as good), this is not the
limiting factor anymore, but copying the user interface as well as the
ecosystem of applications is difficult - and this is what counts because
this enables applications that we have not thought about before.

As an example: using an iPhone as a level, as a music instrument, as an
echosounder to measure distance, to identify music heard, to view MRI
images, as a decibel meter, as a marine gps including planning, a
library of .pdf articles, for bootleg recordings, ... to name just a few
of the more unexpected ones I use regularly.

Also just today I refrained from buying a discounted 8" photo frame for
..jpg at USD 100 - better save for the iPad. Easily has a better LCD,
looks better and of course does more.

I also fondly remember my Z88 from 20 years ago (still working), with
the same form factor and weight - I had used it for taking notes,
e-mailing, calculations, diary - and it was just right in size and
weight to take along.
Also very similar was its almost silent full keyboard when typing.
Obviously you will get 100x more memory, 100x the processing speed, 10x
the screen real estate, colour, etc with the iPad.

Just my opinion of course.

Hmmm; I may have been wrong about the Jobs/Wolfram thing :-)
