Agreed. Though I'm indeed very pleased with having gotten _some_ reform --
or at least what _sounds like_ reform -- after having had my hopes raised
for the first time since my grad-school years, I'm back to being fed up and
disgusted with the US Political System. I've decided to return to my post-
McGovern/pre-Bush(Dubya) days -- i.e., not wasting my time trying to deal
with a political system populated with liars, lawyers, scumbags, criminals,
bigots, and hypocrites (pardon me for being repetitive).

What saddens me is the typical American pretty much believes just that.

I feel very lucky I'm not a typical American, by any stretch.

not an official holiday in any other part of Canada.

Technically, yeah, because the banks aren't allowed to be shut for 4
days. But union agreements include it for lots of people.
