But, both are [or should be] easily rectified by a good customer service department. If the product is faulty then replace/repair it; if there is a service breakdown then apologise and offer compensation either as a reduction in charges or as an extra to the existing package. Simple. I used Kuoni for a holiday some years ago and, when the return flight was cancelled, they provided us with a choice of alternative flights and accommodation until the day of departure. No hassle, no quibbles just a simple question, what would we prefer from the available alternatives. Excellent. And yes, I have used them since and will be happy to use them in the future. -- David Kennedy http://www.anindianinexile.com

It seems simple to me. It does. I suspect - again having worked for one of them - that the companies are too large and too entrenched in the way they do things to achieve such a change. I think it will take an upstart to shake things up - the MVNOs had a chance but blew it (perhaps through brand trust or forced prices?) -z- -- email: nettid1 at fastmail dot fm

That's what I thought until a Swiss friend got us into a New York hotel via a Kuoni booking- we had nothing to do with them otherwise. Maybe it was just a Kuoni Swiss office, but I didn't think it was. I agree that the name *sounds* Finnish. Anyway, Helsinki is one of my favourite places; oh! That Railway station! So Finnish would do fine. -- Peter |
