TIA Photodiode Bootstrap at 10MHz Phil Hobbs wrote: Similar, but unlike the passive photoresistor, the electromotive force detector converts photons into electrical energy. In a TIA circuit it can be modeled as a current source that does not require a bias. Photodiodes and photoconductors are completely different. The curr... 19 Feb 2010 02:12
Maintaining a Vbe Multiplier's bias value I think this fits in sci.electronics.design, not .basics. I'd like to consider the Vbe multiplier often used in audio amplifiers to maintain a bias voltage for the output stage. The purpose is to better mitigate against ripple in the unregulated power supply rails and against the the VAS voltage output resulting... 14 Feb 2010 19:39
Cushman CE-24A Hi, [Passing this along for a friend with limited 'net access] Looking for any information (user manual, service manual) re: a Cushman CE-24A M3/M5. Hopefully, pointers to online resources (I see two ebay auctions for a service manual but located overseas -- he's in the US). advTHANKSance! --don ... 11 Feb 2010 21:52
Inverting vs NonInverting Mosfet Driver I have some fuzzy recollection of reading to the effect that noninverting mosfet drivers are more prone to instability due to layout effects. Confirm? Just doing a quick sim in my head: With poor layout, when a noninverting mosfet driver turns on (sourcing), the signal ground pops up due to the mosfet gate... 11 Feb 2010 12:48
OFF TOPIC< SPEECH BY ONE OF MY HEROS> Ok, one of my personal Heros is a real SOB, makes Thompson look like a leftie wimp... But this is very interesting how well he saw into the future... Lithium Ion Battery Holder Hi All, I am planning to use the following battery but unable to find the surface mount or through hole holder for it. Can anybody give me some direction. http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Ultralife/UBC322030-PCM/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMv%252bRg7RuaPulNRYhIFHdoMDk%2fyZhQ7%2fQWI%3d or http://datasheet.octopart.com... 8 Feb 2010 16:50

Oscilloscopes What's the best scope to get for the money for mostly digital circuits? I'll have some analog but nothing real high frequency, like analog connections to the microcontroller, maybe some SMPS circuits. I was looking at some microcontroller and fpga designs that you can get kits starting at less than $100 and ... 4 Mar 2010 19:11
Mobile fMRI scanners to detect terrorists ? Hello, Here is an idea I just had: By constructing a mobile fMRI scanner and asking people/scannee's questions it might be possible to seperate the "normal people" from the "terrorists with ill intentions". Maybe real terrorists shows certain brain waves that normal people do not... Bye, Skybuck. ... 15 Feb 2010 18:54
Fast zener diode substitute I decided to built this: http://notes.ump.edu.my/fkee/e-Magazine/Elektor%202004/Articles/E/e04b020.pdf It keeps the battery a little bit active, preventing sulphation by loading the battery with a hefty current (40 A) for a short interval (50 μs) approximately every two minutes. But they used a fast zener di... 8 Feb 2010 09:59 |
