Funny liitle project, wrote UDP stack, with netcat on top: jppecat Wanted to test a Microchip ENC28J60 ethernet controller chip. That chip is 3.3V and 5 V tolerant. So decided to test on the PC par port first. Ended up writing a complete UDP ARP subsystem in C, this will add ethernet for next to nothing to anything that has an 8 bits port. http://panteltje.com/panteltje/jppecat/... 5 May 2010 09:20
Looking For Help with a Fluke 196 Scopemeter Does anyone have any experience with one of these? I have been trying to get a simple ac waveform to measure correctly on this and it just won't display it properly. Basically if I attach the 10:1 probe to an AC transformer with say 6 VAC output, the displays says it is 7.3 VAC, but the waveform will occupy 4... 4 May 2010 20:12
No one makes useful comparators I want a +V = 3-15V comparator with PP output and at least -V rail. Bias doens't matter. Propagation under 200ns for 10mV overdrive. CMOS are all either low voltage (5 or 10V max) or stupendously slow (>>2us). LM393 would be fine if someone put a damn CMOS buffer on it. Tim -- Deep Friar: a very philo... 4 May 2010 17:58
Wavetek 23 croaks, anyone know of "notorious" falure areas? So here I am, doing variable line frequency test and ... phssss ... PHUT .... *BAM* ... followed by a stench wafting about. I looked at what was supposed to be 265V/50Hz sine and found a totally distorted 1Hz, plus lots of heat in my amp which luckily survived. Turns out the Wavetek 23 function generator becam... 11 May 2010 13:24
Weatherproof "button" Hi, I need some sort of "button" (sensor?) that I can locate out "in the elements" and use to activate the irrigation system. I.e., "push this button to turn on the water supply". It need not be a traditional "button" (in the electrical sense). E.g., a pressure sensitive pneumatic switch, a photoreflective se... 27 May 2010 22:33
Recommendations for inexpensive DSO I know that this topic comes up regularly, but now that it looks like SWMBO is going to let us invest in a small oscilloscope. So, what is everyone's present recommendation? I know that Joerg likes the Instek, and that the Rigol has recently come up. Which models? And, where (besides Ebay) is a good place to fi... 12 May 2010 14:44
