Strategies for temperature-compensating differential pairs
If you put a reference current into the collector of one half of a differential pair, and then take an output current from the collector of the other transistor of a differential pair, the output current as a fraction of the reference current will be compensated against variations of Is. However, because o... 12 May 2010 03:44

USB function generators?
Gents, Unless it rains on Sunday and I have some time I might just junk this dreaded Wavetek Model 23 generator. Looked around for USB-based generators and found a nice li'l scope/gen combo: http://www.allspectrum.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=2778 Not a lot of info, seems it has no galvanic isola... 11 May 2010 16:47
An other Microchip screwup on teh 18F14K22
After waisting some huors to get SPI working with the PIC 18F14K22 connected to an ENC28J60 Ethernet cotroller, and finally grabbing the scope, I found it sort of always loses bit 0 in the SPI. So looking for that sort of disaster with googke pointed to the 'errata', well I should have looked for that first, so anyw... 11 May 2010 19:02
DSP Device for Guitar Pedal Effect
Hi Fred, I designed and built a DSP board using the Wavefront AL3102 (48 MIPS), the WM8731 CODEC (24 bits/sample, 48 kHz) and an Atmel microcontroller (DSP program loading/storage and control) that will be selling for around $50. It comes in a 20 pin 600 mil DIP package (small!) and consumes 48 mA at 3.6 to 24 volt... 7 May 2010 11:09

EFD20 Bobbin?
I'm trying to wind 3 x 26AWG twisted on a EFD20 bobbin and it's really a PITA. Would there be a significant increase in winding capacitance if I just use single strands in parallel? The rms current in the primary is 2.2A primary turns of 9. It's for a 15W flyback. ... 7 May 2010 11:09
