NSA attacks American citizens with hardware rootkits
Evil NSA builds hardware/firmware rootkit chips and solders them onto motherboards. This means the people who are supposed to protect us are mistreating us. http://www.spamlaws.com/how-rootkits-work.html quotes: "Firmware rootkits are the most malicious type of malware because they are capable of creating malc... 15 May 2010 21:22
Eagle CAD Library Question
I have inherited a design with none of the parts in the schematic existing in the libraries. Is there some sort of "twist" I can do to the update command that will bring these parts in? Thanks much, Ed V. ... 13 May 2010 10:29
Neoware e140
Hi, I rescued a number of these and was hoping to repurpose them for use at a local non-profit. I believe these originally ran XPe but that is no longer present on the flash. Any pointers on how to reflash them? Ideally, I'd like to put "whatever" on them but would settle for something like Neolinux if no o... 12 May 2010 16:59

5 second reset?
Hi all I need to hold Reset on a PLC for some time. To do so I'd like to use a crystal and chip, not a condensator or something. I looked at the 4060, which has an onboard option for a crystal, but I am a little uncertain about how the counter works - I need to divide by at least 160000 (or, say 2 in power o... 14 May 2010 07:20

Stereoscope for Electronics
Time to come out of long time lurk mode. I'm doing my first foray into 0.5mm pitch surface mount with a 100 pin TQFP FPGA. My antique eyes and 7 power surgical stereoscope (head mounted) are not cutting the mustard. Therefore I'm looking for some recommendations on a good stereoscope for EE work.
