To emphasize that, I wasn't really interested in an iPhone until I saw a jailbroken one running bash, ssh, tar etc. I suddenly thought of lots of useful (for me) things to do with one. -- Paul Sture

Same here. For me, though, I won't get around to doing it to mine until (a) the warranty is expired (which already happened long ago with my iPhone 3G) and (b) when I actually find time to fiddle around with it, which apparently isn't any time soon. : ) -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me. I thought the jailbreak was reversible. -- Lloyd

I thought the jailbreak was reversible. Why wait until the warranty is expired? Because there's a risk of bricking the phone, and I'd rather play it safe. But that's not what has stopped me. The only feature I imagine myself really wanting bad enough to jailbreak at the moment is tethering, and I simply don't want it badly enough to lose what little free time I have available at the moment. -- Send responses to the relevant news group rather than email to me.
