All fair comment. (however you should have called me on your SQL
conversions <g>. Our classes allow us to run DBF simultaneously with SQL
for testing purposes and of course code validation purposes)

It will probably come down to cost. An effort is involved no matter
which direction is taken. Whether Vulcan provides a positive cost
benefit will probably depend on the code base and the conversion
difficulties (if any). I just don't see the need to pull code into
Vulcan unless it truly is easy. We'll see. You are more optimistic than
I am.

I agree with this.

Yes I think that is the big difference between our points of view, but I do
have the advantage when trying to see into the future that I have been
working with more recent Vulcan builds than you have and I have a lot more
experience with .NET.

Sorry I don't come to you for my affirmation, but that doesn't make me
arrogant. People on this newsgroup are way to sensitive getting inulted very
easily. It is a good sign of low self esteme around here.

I'm not a hyporcrite. I have said VO is a sinking ship for the last 4 years.
Nothing has changed. I still think it is sinking. More rats are leaving
every day. I live what I believe and left VO years ago.

Take a chill pill.

Rats!

....couldn't you have found a better metaphor to describe those moving
on?

And that is exactly what it will be usefull for. For the time that is needed
to bring over the entire codebase from VO to Vulcan...
I agree with you that this is something that you woudln't want to do for
years. It is part of the migration strategy...
