From: Geoff Schaller on 22 Sep 2006 06:08 4.3 seconds. (...and only because I mistyped nashi <g>) But the nashi is the perfect cross between those two fruits and if you look at the image I posted you will see that it looks surprisingly like an apple yet inside it is soft like a pear. There are huge orchards of them grown here in Victoria - it was a popular tax dodge for quite a while. Your post was tongue-in-cheek so I thought I would take the challenge <g> "Marc Verkade [Marti IT]" <marcatM(a)rtidotnl> wrote in message news:4513b49d$0$82992$58c7af7e(a)news.kabelfoon.nl: > I was wondring how long googling it took for you to come up with this > answer.. ;-) > > "Geoff Schaller" <geoff(a)xxxsoftwareobjectives.com.au> schreef in bericht > news:45130dc3$1(a)dnews.tpgi.com.au... > > >> similarities happened to have trees of both of them. Its an odd fruit - there are about 6 common varieties but only 2 or 3 are grown here commercially. I think it tastes like cardboard but we sell 100's of tonnes of it a year to Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan. Asians love them but the taste is quite exotic and so they do not sell well in our shops.
