If you analyse the orchestration it's easy to see how the great composers were able to deal with the varying dynamics of the voice. Best -JAmes-

Er yes. I hope the ENO changes its policy about that. -- Tim "That excessive bail ought not to be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted" Bill of Rights 1689

What, because I don't like opera or football and don't like to hear people talking about opera or football? What a twit you are. The former is simply an ugly waste of money; the latter is an ugly way to leach money from those who can least afford it for the benefit of those who don't need it. Of the two, footie is the more odious; in its money-grubbing conflict-enhancing professional guise, that is. Opera doesn't annoy me like the rip-off level of professional football does[1]. Rowland. [1] Acknowledging here that yes, some people do play the game for the sheer enjoyment of it, and some of those are even professionals - but playing for the clubs that have no serious ambition to be top of anything significant, the clubs that just want everyone to enjoy the game for the sake of the game, not for making as much money as possible. -- Remove the animal for email address: rowland.mcdonnell(a)dog.physics.org Sorry - the spam got to me http://www.mag-uk.org http://www.bmf.co.uk UK biker? And yet you insult me for preferring not to. That's what I'm complaining about - your intolerable lack of tolerance for tastes other than your own. I'm complaining about your boorishness and your intolerance and your lack of appreciation of the fact that your outlook is of a lower order of sophistiation than is mine. You are the crab bucket - see `Unseen Academicals', by Pterry. Now *that* is intolerable snobbishness on my part - what do you think? Do you think I've managed to write in as annoyingly rude and snooty fachion as you managed? Have I managed to plunge as deep into the pool of social invective as did you? But I'm right about you being the crab bucket. > > What a twit you are. > > > > The former is simply an ugly waste of money; > > You have no taste, clearly. Yes, indeed, my music collection would indeed prove to anyone that I have no taste at all. He wrote, with some Telemann soothing his fevered brow at the moment[1]. <shrug> Opera and ballet are forms of entertainment for people with no taste and no ability to appreciate art - or so I think. Both are just overpriced nonsense for rich idiots who know no better, so I think. Footy is at least more honest than opera, Neither's worth the money and audiences they get, I don't think anyway. I'd rather see worthwhile entertainment and art being pushed to the masses. Rowland. [1] I'm a *BIG* fan of baroque music, played on authentic instruments and believe me that's essential. -- Remove the animal for email address: rowland.mcdonnell(a)dog.physics.org Sorry - the spam got to me http://www.mag-uk.org http://www.bmf.co.uk UK biker?
