crashes after resuming from suspend
Hi, I normally suspend my laptop (Dell Latitude D630, Squeeze, AMD64) with s2disk of uswsusp. Lately (not sure exactly when it started) resuming seems to be rather broken: * In one case a few processes failed (fakeroot would fail because getopt segfaulted, iceweasel would crash often, and in rather predic... 24 May 2010 15:42

grub savedefault?
When one has multiple kernels installed, where is one supposed to configure the option to always boot the last-selected kernel? I can't make sense of all the automatic over-writing that the grub scripts are doing on Debian, and the /etc/default/grub file doesn't have an example of what the scripts are looking for. ... 26 May 2010 14:42

Following is the contents are my /etc/fstab file on the system. # /etc/fstab: static file system information. # # Use 'vol_id --uuid' to print the universally unique identifier for a # device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices # that works even if disks are... 23 May 2010 10:16
Moving /tmp to a separate partition. Advice?
Howdy, fellow Debianites! Given some extra hard drive space, I decided to move my /tmp dir (currently located under / ) to a partition of its own. buisnesscard sid_d-i in "expert" mode asks different questions on amd64 vs powerpc
I recently installed an AMD64 box from a sid_d-i businesscard CD in "expert" mode. It asked me some questions that I didn't remember seeing on my PowerPC installations. In particular, it asked me to chose a distribution (Lenny, Squeeze, Sid) and whether I wanted to use non-free repositories. I just d... 23 May 2010 04:56
