Termination of AC coupled 100MHz clok to generate low jitter 50MHz clock?
I have a requirement to terminate an AC coupled 100MHz clock and produce an LCVCMOS (3.3V) 50MHz clock with low jitter (the amount of jitter isn't specified). The input is specified as an "AC coupled signal of 1mW into 50 ohms". I don't have any experience with low jitter clock distribution so am unsure how to... 2 Feb 2010 16:24
ucontrollers (AVR/ATMega) and radio transceiver modules
Hi, New to the group... But did google around the archives first, so please excuse if this has been done to death - I did try(!) I play with AVRs (Tiny/Mega) as a hobby (linux sysadmin, perl/C programmer by trade). I fancy having a play with some radio datalinks (with a view to home automation) - but the... 27 Jan 2010 01:36
Low Rds(on) tempco
A little while ago, someone was asking if anyone makes MOSFETs with a low Rds(on) tempco. Fairchild is claiming an usually low ratio of ~1.63 = Rds(on)(175C) / Rds(on)(25C) for some low voltage FETs: http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/FD%2FFDP8860.pdf But they're also claiming 254W dissipation in a TO-220. Tempc... 24 Jan 2010 21:27

Are TS555's really supposed to suck this much?
I was trying to blink LEDs from a TS555IN today, and discovered the awful truth that its output stage stinks. Somehow it's rated for 10mA source, 50mA sink (at 12V, 2V max. Vds(sat)). The datasheet happens to overlook the fact that internal voltages change when the output is loaded. Specifically, in astable mode... 2 Feb 2010 16:26
ZXSC400 LED driver problem
Hi All, Anyone use the Zetex ZXSC400 LED driver? I've got a very strange problem - below about 2.6V or so input voltage the efficiency goes out the window. I've got a circuit similar to the datasheet with 6 LEDs. It looks like the base drive voltage of the transistor isn't doing what it should (in fact when... 20 Jan 2010 15:11

Offpage connector symbols
Hi, As a side-comment to the schematic preferences thread (hopefully not another lengthy thread :> ), I'm curious as to what folks use as an offpage connector symbol. Given that I prefer these to be *at* the edges of the schematic *and* given that the signal name will be "outboard" of it, I try to use very n... 22 Jan 2010 21:57
