Certainly culturally, we have more in common with North Americans, Australians, South Africans and a whole batch of miscellaneous ex-colonies than with any other European nation bar Ireland (which was also a British colony, once upon a time). In terms of religion, economy and politics, our history is significantly different from that of any other European nation. We are about as European as Russia, which is to say not that much at all.

I was interested enough to look at it because I happen to be atheist, but I'm not subscribed to a.a, yet I'm getting a thread which has people on it from physics newsgroups. Now maybe I should accuse the physicists of "barging into" cam.misc? I don't "go into" the physics newsgroups any more than you "go into" alt.atheism (I mean, God knows, or more precisely I'm sure TNP knows, I readily hold my hands up to not understanding a word of them) Linda ff |
