Since eternal-september is having some hickups today, this might be a feature I'd like to know more about. In MTNW you can type in a bunch of newsreaders, and quickly switch between various servers. In MacSOUP you can only punch in one newsserver. If you want to switch server one day, you will have to type in a new server. Correct?

I use Excalibur <http://excalibur.sourceforge.net/> to cover that base. No, it's not as nice as integrated spellcheck, but it's easy enough I get by - I just copy the text in MacSOUP, switch to Excalibur, Command-T to spellcheck, save changes to clipboard, paste changes (if any mistakes were corrected) back into MacSOUP. Heh - that sounds more laborious than it really is. Or am I just so used to quickly doing it before every post? Maybe so. The real advantage of Excalibur, though, is I can have multiple custom dictionaries, of which there are many ready made: <http://excalibur.sourceforge.net/dictionaries.html>. -- If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate. |
