The USA can go belly up and English will still be the world's most popular language. You seem to forget that the language in question is English - from England, yes? England gave the English language to the world some time back (even if the rest of the world had its doubts...) and it doesn't really matter what happens to the USA - English will continue to be the world's most popular second language. No form of Chinese can possible supplant English in that way - as anyone who knows anything about Chinese could tell you. Chinese is too hard; while English is *far* too easy. Oh, it's a pain in a lot of ways, but as far as I can figure out, English has taken over because it's very adaptable. You can muck it about almost any way you like, and it still works. Unlike Chinese, English is very obviously a creole. Gives it a bit of a head start. Also, native English speakers from everywhere except the USA are used to working with lots of different dialects - non-US native speakers of English are much better than most people at understanding their language when mucked up by foreigners who've not got the hang of it, because we're so used to having to cope with deviant dialects ourselves (especially us English). And as I've pointed out to you before (a shame you decided to ignore this fact and made a fool of yourself by again exposing another aspect of your boundless ignorance): the end of the superpower era is upon us.
