An interesting question. I believe some would rather the job be done badly as
long as an appearance / illusion of 'correctness' is maintained. Such people
are often called politicians.

Personally that would be politically incorrect in itself.

Political Correctness is (generally) an empty sneer phrase with any meaning
you want to give it. Often people try to justify inappropriate behaviour by
accusing any complainants of political correctness - as if that dismisses
any argument.

Yes. Saying something is wrong simply because it is politically incorrect is
false (IMHO).
