Safari - Banks here we go again
Royal Bank of Scotland advises customers to use the latest versions of browsers, and even links to update pages, but does not support them! I had to use the Safari develop / user agent option to pretend it was 4.0.5 (not 4.1 or 5.0) before I could login. Then it worked perfectly of course. The new Safari doe... 9 Jun 2010 16:28
Safari 5 Install problems
Just FYI in case anyone is having problems. Now sorted but a few worrying moments. Safari 5 installed and opened but would not load any web pages. Tried re-install, permissions repair, voodoo chant without success. A Google search revealed others with the same problem and it turns out that CosmoPod was the culpr... 9 Jun 2010 11:59
Access update - Safari 5
I'm pleased to announce that there are some serious accessibility improvements within Safari 5, and long may this continue: 1. VoiceOver is no longer sluggish when closeing a tab, when there are many open. Previously, "busy" would be often announced and it would take time to sort itself and allow the navigation ... 8 Jun 2010 11:28

What triggers Safari's Reader detection?
Any ideas about what triggers it? I tested it on the Daily Mail website. As far as I can tell, the triggers for Reader mode are: Cheryl Cole Migrants pictures of famous women looking tired/blotchy/fat/thin It's pretty clever, but Apple don't really seem to have spilled any beans on how it works. Styles in Pages
Tim Streater <timstreater(a)waitrose.com> wrote: I'm using Pages 08. I can define a style and then apply it to some paragraph. And if the paragraph has had some style changes made to it (e.g. altering space-before), I can see that a change has been made in the Styles Drawer, where a disclosure triangle for... 7 Jun 2010 18:52
OmniPlan and Merlin
Is anyone of aware of any recent comparisons of these two project management apps? I have the sense that OmniPlan is stagnating somewhat compared to Merlin, but wondered if there are any users here with experience of both. OmniPlan 2.0 out mid-2010 apparently. -- Cheers, Steve The reply-to email ad... 7 Jun 2010 17:44
The official WWDC prediction / reaction thread
As long as they release an iPhone which is faster than the current one and has more capacity, I'm in. If they release a white one, I'm in with bells on. (I'm sure there will be reactions going on on Twitter, too; I'm @zoara) -zoara- -- "And the tiny universe compiles." http://powazek.com/pos... 13 Jun 2010 05:05
Boot Camp, Parallels and Fusion
My wife has taken the plunge and bought an iMac. It is new and shiny, fully up to date, with a wireless keyboard and Magic Mouse. Nevertheless there are still a couple of Windows applications she needs and we are looking into installing Windows 7 on her Mac rather than keep the old PC going for them. There see... 11 Jun 2010 03:48
