From: Geoff Schaller on 6 Oct 2006 10:12 Hi Ginny. Oops, I guess you forgot. Vista IS the next version of windows (Its not released yet, did you know?) and if you can't find out any details about its features I guess you must have lost the URL to Microsoft. And oops again... I guess you haven't seen the patch notes for the latest SP release for SQL Server - were they phantom discussions we were all having over reporting server enhancements, mobile framework enhancements, etc... and oops yet again, I guess that MS Office 2007 beta TR2 I've got here is just a phantom too, eh? Hmmm.... I think you need to get out on the golf course a little more. Geoff
From: Ginny Caughey on 6 Oct 2006 10:19 Geoff, Once again you prove that you can't or won't read. I asked about the next version of Windows AFTER Vista. I asked about the next VERSIONS of SQL Server and Visual Studo - not already announced patches or public betas, which by the way were all announced at conferences. The more messages you post, the more you prove my point. -- Ginny "Geoff Schaller" <geoff(a)xxxsoftwareobjectives.com.au> wrote in message news:45266465$1(a)dnews.tpgi.com.au... > Hi Ginny. > > Oops, I guess you forgot. From: Geoff Schaller on 6 Oct 2006 21:00 Ginny, I did read that and assumed a total misprint. Why on earth would you be asking about a version of OS beyond the one still not released? What on earth has that got to do with an impending release of a version of VO well beyond the planning and development stage. Heck it's supposed to be available in only a few weeks! Obfuscation is the only answer. You are sadly deluded if you think the questions I posed are not widely expected out there. This ng has been consistently critical of this, including many VOPS members. So I can only assume that you are seeking to deliberately side-step the real discussion with fluff and irrelevancies. The future of VO and the intentions of its developer are critical to all of us but irrelevant to those who don't care. I can only assume you don't care or you would join with us and help get this important information into the public domain. We can only assume the news is all bad and that Brian cannot be honest enough to express his true intentions. You have demonstrated your willingness to be the pseudo mouthpiece for GrafX in the past and you certainly perpetuate the same arrogance here. We can only conclude that Eric, Phil and Brian were correct in their pronouncements that VO 2.8 is essentially the last VO32 build of significance and the VO 'development' was doublespeak for Vulcan development, not VO32. No news is bad news in this instance until proven otherwise. I hope you are not trying to compare the information that we ALL recieve from Microsoft with the information coming out of Grafx. If so I believe you are losing touch with reality and have lost all credibilty. One can only assume that you have some vested insterest in the crazy marketing stratagy that Grafx has adopted.

mullet, I receive information from Microsoft that you don't. I also receive information from Grafx that you don't. That was the point - that software companies sometimes find it useful to discuss potential decisions with a smaller group of users before finalizing that decision and announcing it to the world. My vested interest in Grafx products is that I have a lot of code that depends on them - that's all, but that's also different from those of you who have announced that you no longer need Grafx products since you are moving to something else. -- Ginny "mullet" <mullet(a)yahoo.ca> wrote in message news:FoDVg.101887$5R2.89523(a)pd7urf3no... >> As far as I can tell, it's mainly you that he's ignoring.
