Hai,

Am I a VO evangelist?
I use VO and am happy to earn money with it.
I try to help people here whenever i can.
I provide and maintain a little wbsite with VO samples.
Seeing my name here often does not make me an evangelist.
I am just stating what VO brings for me.

We have shifted to C# for new development too (a.o. www.cash-it.nl).
We currently are examining the possibility's to migrate our current big VO
apps into the future and Vulcan is an option as is C#, but i must say that I
too are very worried about the progress Grafx makes with Vulcan.

I stated several times (here and in VOPS) that I am not happy the way Grafx
communicates with people and targeting their deadlines. I too have no
message at all when hearing 'it is finished when it is finished'. My
customers don't buy that when I will tell that to them. But for now, we are
not eager to migrate out main apps right now simply because i do not have
the money to spend several man-years for that new .Net development.

But the fact remains: I love to program in VO and are very happy with VO. I
like the VOPS because I saves me money. I own m house because of VO. 12
people can pay their mortgage because of VO. Does that makes me an
evangelist?

Geoff,

No i don't. If you would have read what i wrote, you could have
realised that i have doubts converting code from any .net lang to
another being so "simple" as Heiko told.

Hai Carlos,
You can distil it from the threads, but I will some them up...
- There is a new VO2.8 coming up
- After the public 2740 update there are about 20 public VOPS builds,
currently at version 2770.
These builds contain amongst others:
- New features
- New editor
- Better VSS support
- Bugfixes
- IDE improvements
- Compiler improvents

Vo is doing what it did before but it is more productive for us now and also
more stable.
I know that 2.8 will be too because lot's of it is already tested by the
(sometimes very precise) VOPS subscribers.

I do know nothing about Vulcan.

Hai Geoff,

Are you supliing free support to your customers too?
We as relative small companies can't afford to giev free support because
then we would not be able to sell, fix and improve our software.

I agree that Grafx if vague about giving info and I am with you on that
side!

Hi Mullet,
On Wed, 20 Sep 2006, at 20:20:06 [GMT GMT] (which was 22:20 where I live)
you wrote about: 'Vulcan .Net and VO 2.8'

VOPS is not exclusive. Everybody can subscribe. Only one company has been
excluded for reasons that have been explained on this newsgroup.

I am sorry, but this is nonsense:

- VO 2.7 was released in 2004
- There have been FREE bug fixes in 2004 and 2005.
- The latest public build was from februari 2005 (2.7b build 2740) and is
not flawed.
- A new release has just been announced: see the 'Official VO 2.8
Announcement thread in this newsgroup that also has link to a page
with a summary of the changes in this new build.
