The difference between literal and figurative..for Christians is:
If something in the bible is immoral, unjust, unethical or just plain
nuts then it's meant to be taken figuratively.
If something in the bible is moral, true, sane or ethical then it's meant
to be taken literally or figuratively.
Nothing in the bible is to be taken figuratively to mean something
immoral, unjust or just plain nuts.
It's just superduper that way.

iirc the bible was written in a now dead language translated into 1600's
English.
And on top of that the bible needs to be read figuratively??
If translations were done like that to space shuttle blueprints, the
build would most likely blow up on the launchpad.

Perhaps you can write a book on all the figurative stuff in the bible.
Then try to get that book sanctioned by 38000 Christian denominations.

Christian engineers are ridiculous in believing their understanding of
the bible is always the same understanding as 38000 Christian
denominations.

God needs believers like Superman needs little gym weights.

God is ridiculous in having a petty 'NEED' for believers.
What's god's problem?
He's not sure that he exists?
Why is omnipotent God so needy?

EVen if true, God is too ridiculous to not represent a slave owner
tricking his slaves to be happy slaves so they don't revolt.

This baby needed a miracle.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Enencephaly.jpg
This baby did not grow a forebrain.

Terry Fox needed a miracle.
His leg didn't grow back

Millions of amputees and none get a miracle.
The difference is that amputees have 0 odds of limbs growing back.
People are not like starfish.
Most so called 'miracles' happen with people with medical conditions
with small or non zero odds of recovery.
When they beat the odds 'It's a miracle'.

Unfortunately, if anyone grows a leg back, perhaps the only way to check
if it's a miracle is to chop it off and see if it grows back again. :P

God needs to be 'jerked off' is a metaphor for the need to feel good.
God needs to get off on humans.
God needs to feel pleasure.
Gods needs needs needs needs needs 'insert human emotion'.

God appears to to be deficient in dopamine and serotonin or may have
problems in the septum pellucidium.
God made the universe yet can't make his own dopamine and serotonin??
That's not very all-powerful..
Making the earth and the universe seems like a lot of trouble just to
get jerked off.

Even if true, God is not worthy of worship.

And...
Christian engineers are ridiculous in believing in an all powerful God
incapable of changing his own brain chemistry.

Then it seems to be time for you to turn off your imaginary computer.
