Turkey wants to join the EU. The folks who want to get rid of the
seperation of power in Turkey are extremists not conservatives. Egypt
doesn't have the income needed. The Saudis are the only ones who will be
able to get into the arms race, if it happens.

Personally I consider Russia to be a European country. I wonder if I'll live to
see it either join the EU or come to some formal arrangement with it. Ukraine has
already applied for membership btw.
